Jaime Carrera’s work can be viewed in many ways. Aesthetically, it is primary. Socially, it is relevant. Politically, it is right on. I expect nothing less when I shop Jaime Carrera.

When experiencing Jaime’s work, photography, painting, performance or dance, you can expect to be bombarded with imagery, information, and a sense of uncertainty. You may not agree with Jaime’s views, but the work is undeniably sensual, intriguing and you will leave wanting more.

Biography

Jaime Carrera was born in Mexico and now lives and works in Minneapolis. His artwork has been shown in many galleries and spaces such as Intermedia Arts, Rogue Buddha Gallery, Outsiders and Others Gallery, in Minnesota, and The Coyote Arts Festival in Chicago. Jaime’s curatorial work includes theVisible Fringe Festival where he was one of the original exhibiting artists.

Jaime’s work in theatre includes the creation of “Soltero” his first stage production combining performance, music, art, music and video at the Bryant-Lake Bowl Theatre, “Godless” a theatrical production which debuted at Bryant-Lake Bowl Theatre in May 2008. Later that year he produced “Povera” , a performance art piece at The Soap Factory as part of the Artery 24 Performance Art Festival. He has appeared at The Walker Art Centre in Minneapolis a number of times. He is currently working on “Tableaux” which will premiere in March 2009.

Jaime Carrera is a talented artist, musician, composer, dancer and choreographer.
